4. Sides C&D are an excellent insight into Spacemen 3 at this point in their development. Overall, my favourite version of Playing With Fire (I also have the original Fire edition and the Taang! double 10" version, both of which are good too)/5(27).

5. Jan 14,  · A very good LP pressing and plays clearly without any pops or crackles despite being quite long per side compared to the Fire edition I also have. Sides C&D are an excellent insight into Spacemen 3 at this point in their development/5().

6. Double vinyl LP pressing. Spacemen 3 began assembling their third album, 's Playing With Fire, at perhaps the freest, most confident point in their career. Recording began with the band road-tested and rugged, even amidst the functional volatility that famously motivated their course/5(27).

7. Playing With Fire is the third album by Spacemen 3. Their first album, Sound Of Confusion, explored grinding, psychedelic garage rock. The second, The Perfect Prescription, was a more mellow, low key album; it was less aggressive and more evocative of drug-induced bliss/5(27).

9. 8/10 Richard 29th August This is probably the LP that really started to hint at what was to come in Sonic Boom and Jason Pierce's careers post Spacemen 3. You can very much hear the Spiritualized sound that Pierce was to develop further on his penned contributions 'Come Down Softly To My Soul', 'So Hot (Wash Away All Of My Tears)' and in particular 'Lord Can You Hear Me?'.
